Subcommittees of Kildare Camogie Executive
Transfers, Hearings and Disciplinary Subcommittee (THDC)
The make-up and responsibilities of the THDC are covered by Rule and by Terms of Reference circulated by Ard Chomhairle to County Boards.
Development subcommittee
The main function of the Development subcommittee is to increase participation and quality of Camogie in Kildare by supporting existing players, coaches and clubs and by encouraging new players, coaches and clubs. Central to this is the implementation of a County Development Plan.
Referees subcommittee
The role of the Referee’s subcommittee is to help ensure there are enough best quality referees available to officiate at Camogie games in Kildare.
The subcommittee does this by:
- Maintaining a register of all certified referees available to officiate at Camogie matches in Kildare.
- Coordinating training courses & skills updates for the different grades of referees within the county.
- Monitoring standards to ensure that all referees comply with the rules of the Camogie Association and the Byelaws of Kildare Camogie.
- Appointing referees for fixtures when directed to do so by the County Board or its Executive.
- Reporting issue’s relating to refereeing to the County Board.
Fixtures subcommittee
The Fixtures subcommittee is responsible for drafting the annual schedule of games for Camogie players in Kildare and ensuring that all competitions are completed per the schedule.
This involves:
- Creating and publishing an annual fixtures plan for the upcoming playing season allowing for College, School exams and intercounty fixtures.
- Monitoring the progress of fixtures and competitions per the schedule.
- Adjusting the schedule when necessary.
- Generating results tables for distribution to Clubs and to the PRO for publishing via social media.
Finance & Fundraising subcommittee
The Finance and Fundraising subcommittee helps the County Treasurer with managing the finances of the County and fundraising to allow the development of Camogie in Kildare and the running of County teams.
This involves:
- Managing the collection of Gate receipts.
- Coordination of County fundraising activities.
- Working with the PRO subcommittee on generating and managing sponsorship opportunities.
- Working with the Development subcommittee on opportunities for grant aid.
PRO subcommittee
The PRO subcommittee is responsible for the public face of Camogie in Kildare including:
- Maintaining the content of all official websites and social media platforms related to Kildare Camogie.
- Working with Local and National media to promote the activities of Kildare camogie within the local and wider community including providing results and match reports.
- Coordinating any live streaming of matches.
- Working with the Development and Fundraising subcommittees on publicity campaigns.
Juvenile subcommittee (GoGames)
The role of the Juvenile subcommittee is to coordinate Camogie games for players under the age of 12 in Kildare.
The games must be:
- Promoting FUN.
- Child centred.
- Small sided.
- Age appropriate.
- Focused on encouraging player development.
- Focused on providing all players with meaningful playing time.
